Cowdray Park Polo Club Prepares for an Exciting 2025 Season: Interview with The Hon Mrs. Lila Pearson

As the 2025 polo season approaches, The Hon. Mrs. Lila Pearson, Vice President of Cowdray Park Polo Club, shares insights into the exciting plans, upgrades, and initiatives that will shape the year ahead.

A Dynamic Polo Calendar

With over 500 matches scheduled, Cowdray Park promises a thrilling season set against the stunning backdrop of the South Downs. The high-goal tournaments remain a centerpiece, starting with the Trippetts Challenge in May and culminating in a bumper Gold Cup, drawing top teams and elite players to the club.

One of the most notable enhancements for 2025 is the investment in field quality, with fraze mowing completed on Ambersham 3 and Lawns 2, ensuring top-tier playing conditions for competitors.

Enhancing the Player and Spectator Experience

Cowdray Park Polo Club is committed to providing a world-class experience both on and off the field.

For spectators, exclusive hospitality options will elevate match days, including gazebo plots for members, private pagodas, and fully catered corporate offerings at the Gold Cup semi-finals and final.

Families and newcomers can enjoy the Midhurst Town Cup ‘Family Day’, featuring a funfair, country sports demonstrations, and an interactive trading village, making polo more accessible to a broader audience.

Evenings will continue to sparkle with Ibiza Night and Showtime, adding a lively social dimension to the season.

A significant addition for 2025 is the newly renovated clubhouse at Ambersham Polo Grounds, now managed by Peter Walters, the esteemed owner of Faustinos. With a revamped menu and a welcoming atmosphere, the clubhouse is set to become the heart of social activity at Cowdray.

Preparations for the Gold Cup

Behind the scenes, the Cowdray Park team has been working tirelessly under the leadership of new Managing Director, Martine Hartridge, ensuring the season’s smooth execution.

The winter months have been dedicated to extensive logistical planning for the Gold Cup, alongside securing new sponsorships, including a prestigious partnership with Bentley Motors.

On the field, the ground staff has focused on essential maintenance, ensuring pristine playing surfaces for what promises to be an unforgettable 2025 season.

📍 Cowdray Park Polo Club continues to lead the way in tradition, excellence, and innovation—making this season one to remember.
