Aspen Snowmass: Transforming the Mountain Experience with $80 Million in Upgrades

Aspen Snowmass, a premier mountain resort under Aspen One, is set to embark on a transformative journey this summer with nearly $80 million in on-mountain improvement projects. These enhancements aim to elevate the skiing and biking experience, reinforcing Aspen Snowmass’s position as North America’s top resort destination.

A Landmark Summer for Mountain Development

The investment includes the introduction of two new high-speed chairlifts and a complete reconstruction of one of the resort’s most cherished on-mountain restaurants. These ambitious projects align with Aspen One’s commitment to modernizing infrastructure at a rapid pace to ensure an unmatched guest experience.

“We have a huge summer ahead for on-mountain developments here at Aspen Snowmass,” said Geoff Buchheister, CEO of Aspen Skiing Company. “These projects represent our ongoing commitment to providing world-class adventures while ensuring the longevity and excellence of our resort.”

New Chairlift Upgrades: Speed, Efficiency & Expanded Access

Elk Camp 6-Pack Lift
The Elk Camp quad chairlift will be replaced by a state-of-the-art, high-speed six-pack lift to accommodate increasing demand. This upgrade will dramatically reduce ski season wait times and enhance bike transport for the Snowmass Bike Park, nearly doubling its capacity.

New Cirque T-Bar
Replacing the current platter lift, the Cirque T-Bar will provide double-rider capacity, easing congestion at one of the highest alpine lifts in North America. Skiers will gain more streamlined access to some of Snowmass’ most extreme terrain, redefining the mountain experience for expert riders.

A Historic Investment in Aspen’s Future

This marks the first time in nearly two decades that Snowmass has introduced two new lifts in a single season. These advancements join a series of recent upgrades, including The Cabin and Coney Express renovations in Snowmass this past winter, the Hero’s terrain expansion at Aspen Mountain, and the Buttermilk base area renovation, both completed in 2023.

Looking Ahead: Temporary Closures & Operational Adjustments

With these large-scale developments, some temporary closures and operational shifts will take place throughout the summer season. Aspen Snowmass will provide regular updates via its website and app, ensuring guests stay informed and can plan their experiences accordingly.

This initiative reinforces Aspen One’s vision for sustained excellence, solidifying Aspen Snowmass as the ultimate mountain destination for years to come.
