EQUIMETRE arrives in Argentina with Chapa La Rosina

Chapa La Rosina to introduce Arioneo polo horse performance measurement and evaluation in Argentina – Equimetre system will measure acceleration, speed, cardiovascular functions, fitness and detect pathologies

Paris, France and Pilar, Argentina – French equine technology company Arioneo has entered into an exclusive agreement with Argentina based polo club Chapa La Rosina to deploy its state-of-the-art horse health and performance monitoring solution in the worlds leading polo market. The solution will also be made available in Chile and Uruguay.

Equimetre by Arioneo combines a monitoring device that includes patented components with a comprehensive software application that is 100% non-invasive, easy to use, and has been tested in over 200,000 training sessions in 43 countries by more than 700 users during the last decade.

The Equimetre solution provides comprehensive health and performance monitoring including ECG (cardiovascular) analysis which is automatically analyzed during exercise providing cardiac viability and can identify arrythmias and cardiac pathologies and detect pain and its origin.

“This technology will become an important tool for players, for team mangers, and trainers to better understand the capabilities of individual horses,” said Hector Botero. “And for horse buyers and sellers, the CLR Index report produced by the Equimetre will become a standard. Time will come when no one will buy a polo horse without an Equimetre evaluation” continued Botero.

PERFORMANCE DATA

Acceleration

Equimetre combines locomotion and GPS data simultaneously and automatically to measure one of the most important performance metrics in polo, acceleration providing insights on the horse’s rate of acceleration.

Speed

Equimetre provides maximum speed data and measures the ability pf the horse to maintain speed over time, offering riders, team managers and coaches with critical information for horse selection during a match.

Stride

Equimetre provides detailed stride length and stride frequency data.

Detect arrhythmias

These abnormal changes in heart rate can endanger athletic horses, especially when they occur during very intense effort. EQUIMETRE VET will assist you in the detection of arrhythmias by collecting the ECG for each training session.

Horse Health

ECG data during exercise serves as a clear indicator of the horse’s fitness, its ability to perform during the length of the chukker, and its ability to recover from strenuous runs. ECG data can detect arrhythmia or abnormal changes in heart rate which can endanger athletic horses, especially when they occur during very intense effort.

Performance Overview and Data Management

Consistent use of Equimetre will ensure regular monitoring of horses’ health and performance. All data is centralized to facilitate storage and analysis. Measure and track the evolution of horse’s fitness over time and identify preferences and pathologies. All data is strictly confidential, and data management adheres to strict data privacy laws.

Physical Aptitude Analysis

Identify the optimal fitness level to play.

Analyze heart rate and recovery data to assess fitness and get baseline data to replicate before matches.

Determine the locomotor profile.

Analyze the stride frequency and stride length of horses and detect their preferred distance to play.

Objectivize speed aptitudes.

Measure your horses maximal speed and acceleration capabilities. Quantify the speed during each training session and analyze split times to view the best 100, 200 and 300 meters.

Longitudinal Monitoring

Evaluate the data evolution over the season.

Identify areas for improvement and measure changes in physical aptitudes over time. Has recovery period improved from one period to the next? Is the V200 faster?

Easily compare multiple horses’ aptitudes. Identify which horses have the best physical abilities. Individualize training according to the needs of each horse.

Collect and build a training history for the entire stable. With historical data collected and stored you can easily detect abnormal values and act quickly.

Detection and Prevention

Watch for the warning signs. Identify a bad recovery, an abnormal heart rate or changes in locomotion to act accordingly.

Endure a successful return to the training after a break or injury. Closely monitor your horse’s workload to ensure a successful return after a break or injury.

Easily communicate data to your veterinary team to facilitate your horses’ care. Remotely share data with your veterinarian to ensure a regular and complete follow up. ECGs are automatically collected at each training session allowing you to investigate an anomaly retroactively and remotely.
