Azerbaijan Makes History at the European Chovken Championship in Poland

From June 5 to 7, the fields of Poland hosted a remarkable chapter in equestrian sport: the European Chovken Championship, organized by the International Chovken Federation. With six nations competing—Azerbaijan, Turkey, Hungary, Malta, Poland, and the United Kingdom—the tournament brought together tradition, speed, and strategy in a celebration of this ancient game.

The spotlight belonged to Azerbaijan, who delivered a flawless campaign. After a commanding 3–0 win over Turkey and a 4–0 shutout against Hungary in the semifinals, they faced Malta in the final. With a decisive 6–2 victory, Azerbaijan claimed their first-ever European Chovken title, marking a milestone in the sport’s modern revival.

This triumph not only cements Azerbaijan’s growing influence in the Chovken world but also sets the tone for upcoming continental championships in Uzbekistan, Nigeria, and Argentina later this year.
