La Dolfina travelled to the desert of AlUla, the tourist destination in Saudi Arabia located 1,100 km from Riyadh, to participate for the third time in the Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo tournament. In this place with over 200,000 years of human history, and home to Hegra, an archaeological site recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage, the polo club founded by Adolfo Cambiaso continues to make history and lead the way.

From January 17th to 20th, Adolfo Cambiaso took part in the tournament that brings together professional polo players, the most prominent polo patrons worldwide, and members of the Saudi royalty. The competition featured eight teams over four days of intense polo action, with the captain of La Dolfina emerging as the winner. Cambiaso represented the Saudia team and played alongside Melissa Ganzi from the United States and Sayyu Dantata from Nigeria.

La Dolfina’s participation in the Desert Polo was a resounding success, which culminated with the signing of a strategic alliance between La Dolfina and the Royal Commission for AlUla. During the ceremony, Adolfo Cambiaso was appointed global ambassador for AlUla, and an agreement was reached for the creation of a new Polo Academy in the Kingdom, training programs, and tournament management. Additionally, the agreement stipulates that La Dolfina will provide horses and will be responsible for the management of the participating polo players, both male and female. It will also promote AlUla as a unique tourist destination across the globe, wherever Cambiaso travels.
In the ceremony, Adolfo Cambiaso and Ziad Alsuhaibani, Chief Sports Officer at the Royal Commission for AlUla, exchanged gifts, which included the jerseys of both the AlUla and the Argentine National football teams.
Zaid Alsuhaibani, Chief Sports Officer at the Royal Commission for AlUla, said: “We are delighted to announce the signing of a new strategic partnership with La Dolfina Polo Team that will greatly support the growth and development of desert polo in AlUla and establish northwest Arabia as the number one winter destination for equestrian sports.”
“Having La Dolfina join our network of international partners, who will share their years of knowledge, sporting achievement, and experience of winning major international tournaments, will help to elevate equestrian sports in AlUla to a greater level of sophistication, participation, and excitement. The new agreement, and the upcoming Richard Mille Desert Polo tournament, shows that AlUla is truly the home of equestrian sports and can attract a global audience of enthusiasts along with the best players.”

Camille Martin, Director of the Equestrian Sector, and Marco Villasboa Lanusse, Manager of La Dolfina, accompanied Ziad Alsuhaibani and Adolfo Cambiaso at the event held prior to the final, along with all the international press. They all shared the strategy.
