Ellerston is located near Scone in New South Wales, Australia. In January 1987, it had its first attempt at a polo game on a level area where the current clubhouse, tennis courts, gym, pool, and cinema stand.
The property was founded by the late Kerry Packer in 1972. Packer, an Australian businessman and millionaire magnate, had a vision for creating a world-class polo team that could compete in high-handicap tournaments.
His friendship with Argentine polo player Gonzalo Pieres led to the creation of the Ellerstina Polo Team in 1992. Gonzalo Pieres had initially retired from professional high-goal polo but was enticed back into the sport by Packer’s proposal.
The team’s name, Ellerstina, reflects both Packer’s Australian roots and his English polo team ownership. Since its debut, Ellerstina has consistently demonstrated superlative gameplay, reaching 40-goal handicap teams and winning the prestigious Argentine Polo Triple Crown twice (in 1994 and 2010)

Currently, Ellerstina is receiving La Dolfina Cup with the participation of local players and world stars of this sport such as Juan Martín Nero, Polito Pieres and David Stirling, Tomás Panelo, among others.
