Exploring New Ventures: A Q&A with Hector Botero

We talked with Hector Botero, about his inaugural season in 2024.

Q: Can you tell us about your family’s involvement in thoroughbred horse racing?

A: Our family is in thoroughbred horse racing in the US. You can see our information at www.fincalarosina.com.

Q: Why did you choose Argentina for your polo venture?

A: Argentina is the “Wall Street” of polo and where any serious venture should begin. We are privileged to have found a great partner in Annabel McNaught-Davis to lead our efforts here.

Q: When did you start planning your entry into Argentina polo?

A: We started planning our entry into Argentina polo last year and set our sights on having our inaugural season in 2024.

Q: What are your goals for the first year in Argentina polo?

A: Our first year goal is ambitious. We are preparing to deploy a 24-goal ladies team for the Ladies Cup at Palermo. My feeling is if you don’t have a goal, there is no journey.
