Harald Link: A Legacy of Passion and Purpose in Polo

Few names in the world of equestrian sports resonate with as much dedication and vision as Harald Link. As President of the Thailand and Southeast Asian Equestrian Federation, Link has long championed the growth of polo and equestrian disciplines across the region. But for him, the love of horses runs far deeper than titles or tournaments—it’s a family tradition, a personal passion, and a mission to shape future generations.

“I love horses and horse sports. All my family—even before my grandparents—loved horses and were decent riders,” Link shares warmly.

This generational bond with horses has inspired Link to create opportunities for others to experience the same joy and discipline. Under his leadership, the Thai Polo & Equestrian Club has become a premier venue for international events, including the upcoming FEI Asian Equestrian Championships and the Southeast Asian Games A. These events not only showcase elite talent but also foster regional unity and sportsmanship.

Link’s vision extends beyond competition. He sees polo as a vehicle for character-building, empathy, and teamwork. “We endeavor to instill sportsmanship, love for all animals and sentient beings into the young generations and selfless team play,” he says. “So they will all be loveable citizens of this world.”

That ethos is already taking root in his own family. His grandchildren have begun riding and playing polo, continuing the legacy with youthful enthusiasm. It’s a testament to Link’s belief that the future of the sport lies not just in skill, but in the values it teaches.

Whether through his philanthropic efforts, his leadership in the equestrian world, or his personal commitment to nurturing young talent, Harald Link is shaping a future where polo is more than a sport—it’s a way of life.
