The penultimate day of the league phase of the St. Regis Cowdray Gold Cup, prior to the quarter finals, took place on Wednesday July 7, and saw two hard fought games.
The most significant result was La Hechicera’s victory over UAE by a narrow 12-11 score, following a tough contest that was decided in overtime. The win allowed La Hechicera to qualify to quarter finals, joining Akasha, Black Bears, Dubai and Gaston. In the follow-up, Kazak beat Park Place by a narrow 12-11.
The last games of the league stage will be played on Thursday July 8, and will determine the remaining teams due to play the quarter finals – either if they qualify directly or through a penalty shootout.
The order of play for Thursday July 8 is the following:
Ferne Park vs. Ojo Caliente
Jindal Steel La Dolfina vs. Sujan Indian Tigers
Dubai vs. Clinova Circulare
It’s worth remembering that the quarter finals of the most important tournament in England are due on Saturday July 11 and Sunday July 12.
