This year the Cartier Queen’s Cup Tournament has received a record 19 team entries and for the La Martina Store at Guards Polo Club, this is very good news indeed and marks the start of the busiest time of the year. Starting on the 21st of May, and running until the 16th June, the tournament also runs over the La Martina Varsity Day which creates an amazing opportunity for Cambridge, Oxford, Harrow, Eton and the Pony Club, to be inspired by some of the top players in the world. La Martina has sponsored the Varsity Day for more than 10 years, and each year it brings with it the chance for these young talented players to experience playing at Guards while also catching a game in the Queen’s Cup. This year’s event bought with it the chance to watch Cambiaso play before the main Varsity Match, an added highlight for many of the players.
The Cartier Queen’s Cup also presents a fantastic opportunity to welcome players, clients and tourists in to the La Martina Store where they are able to enjoy shopping from a wide selection of polo equipment and polo lifestyle clothing. Best sellers from the technical equipment include both the Armis and Windsor Polo helmets, boot and kneepads, and the well-loved La Martina kit bag. This year, the run-up to the Final on the 16th June has been even busier than normal in the La Martina Store due to the volume of teams taking place. The Final itself will also see a lot of activity on the La Martina Lawn – this space, which is situated at the heart of the Club, will host an amazing outdoor hospitality area set up and managed by Searcys, providing event seating, a bar area, and a log fired grill serving a BBQ and pizzas.
