Poroto Cambiaso and Fernando Belasteguín at the Richard Mille Padel Experience in Monaco

The exclusive Richard Mille Padel Experience in Monaco welcomed two iconic sports figures: Poroto Cambiaso, a rising polo star, and Fernando Belasteguín, an undisputed legend in padel. This meeting not only celebrated sporting excellence but also highlighted the connection between two disciplines that share passion, strategy, and skill.

Poroto Cambiaso: A Polo Legacy and a New Interest in Padel

Poroto Cambiaso is the seventh member of the Cambiaso family to practice padel, a sport that has captured his interest alongside his successful polo career. He is the son of Adolfo Cambiaso, widely recognized as one of the greatest polo players in history, and has inherited the vision and talent that define his family’s sporting legacy.

At just 19 years old, Poroto has already established himself as one of the most promising young polo players internationally. Now, he has also joined the Richard Mille family of athletes, a brand proud to support emerging talents. He is the second polo player to be welcomed into the prestigious Richard Mille team, complementing the brand’s long-standing relationship with Pablo Mac Donough, another polo icon.

Fernando Belasteguín: The Padel Legend

Fernando Belasteguín, known as “Bela” to his friends and fans, is a true legend in the world of padel. His career is nothing short of extraordinary: for 16 consecutive years, from 2002 to 2017, he held the world number one ranking, an unprecedented achievement in any sport. During this period, he won 230 out of the 286 finals he played, a record that cements his status as the most dominant player in padel history.

Originally from Argentina, Bela comes from a country where padel is a national sport with over 4 million players. He now resides in Barcelona, where padel has grown exponentially in popularity, ranking second only to football in terms of followers and participants.

A Meeting That Celebrates Sports and Excellence

Poroto Cambiaso and Fernando Belasteguín’s visit to the Richard Mille Padel Experience in Monaco symbolizes the union between two sporting worlds that, despite their differences, share fundamental values: discipline, strategy, and passion. Richard Mille continues to strengthen its commitment to sports by supporting athletes who embody excellence in their respective disciplines.

This event not only highlighted the rapid rise of padel but also showcased the versatility of elite athletes who can excel in different arenas. With figures like Poroto and Bela, sports continue to evolve, inspiring new generations and expanding their global impact.
