Sarah Siegel Magness: A Polo Passionate

Article by PoloHUB based in La Nacion Article

Sarah Siegel Magness’s passion for polo led her to make numerous trips to Buenos Aires, where she fell in love not only with the sport but also with the country’s unique way of life. Finally, Sarah and her husband, Gary, decided to put down roots in Argentina and bought their own ranch at La Dolfina, which they now consider their home during the long seasons spent in the country.

With a solid and growing network of friends and a permanent residence, Sarah pursued her dream by founding the first women’s polo team, where she plays alongside Mía, the eldest daughter of Adolfo Cambiaso and María Vázquez. Sarah notes, “Argentinians are some of the most generous and genuine people I have ever met. They are incredibly kind-hearted, and it’s not uncommon for strangers to strike up a meaningful conversation with you.”

Speaking about the Argentine way of life, Sarah highlights, “There is a real sense of solidarity here. People take care of each other, and it’s common to see friends and families gathering regularly just to share a meal or a round of mate. I find that human connection very enriching.”

She continues, “I also noticed the passion for soccer, which is incredible; the energy and pride are palpable, whether it’s a neighborhood game or a professional match. Argentina has a way of drawing people in and making them feel like they belong. It’s a place where simple things are celebrated, and that resonates deeply with me. I have found a sense of community here that is different from the United States. People are more spontaneous, and there is a strong emphasis on enjoying life as it comes. In the U.S., we often focus on productivity and goals, whereas here the focus is on relationships and living in the moment. Both have their strengths, but I have come to appreciate the balance I find in Argentina.”

Sarah Siegel Magness has become a true ambassador of women’s polo in Argentina, promoting not only the sport but also the values of camaraderie and community she has found in the country. With her women’s polo team and her commitment to Argentine polo, Sarah is creating a legacy that will surely inspire future generations of polo players.
