Silver Cup Opens with a High‑Intensity Start at the 55th International Polo Tournament

The Silver Cup kicked off on Monday, marking the second stage of the 55th International Polo Tournament with an intense opening day featuring six matches across the High, Medium and Low Handicap categories. The competition unfolds in three handicap levels: High (20–22 goals), Medium (12–14 goals) and Low (6–8 goals), with the finals scheduled for Friday 14 and Saturday 15 August.

The High Handicap delivered a strong start. In a fast‑paced and tightly contested match, Dubai defeated defending champion Amanara 12–11 on Field 4 at Los Pinos, relying on a collective team performance rather than a single standout figure. Later, Field 3 hosted Brunei Polo Team’s impressive 16–11 victory over Sainte Mesme. Eight teams are competing in this top category.

In the Medium Handicap, both matches were decided in extra chukker. Early in the day, P1 Cars El Bambú edged ATL 12–11 with a winning goal from Carlos María Ulloa. In the afternoon, on Field 2 at Los Pinos, Rosendo Torreguitar scored the golden goal that gave Jolly Roger the win over Royal Salute Standing Rock. In the Low Handicap, the recent Bronze Cup champion Vamos Korea defeated Savoir Polo Team, while Adrenalina / La Esperanza claimed a victory over C. H. Kazuki.

Beyond the action on the field, the experience is enriched by a vibrant social and gastronomic offering at Last Chukker, located between Fields 3 and 4 at Los Pinos. Visitors can enjoy concerts, a design and fashion market on Fridays and Saturdays, art spaces, shops in the central pavilion, food trucks and an exclusive Croft Twist bar alongside Cokko Rosso, creating a full lifestyle atmosphere around each matchday.
