The World Watches as Virginia Hosts the FIP Arena Polo World Championship

This fall, the global polo community will turn its attention to Virginia, where the Federation of International Polo (FIP) will host the second edition of its prestigious Arena Polo World Championship. The tournament, scheduled for October 5-12, 2025, will take place at Roseland Polo Club in Crozet and Virginia Polo Inc. in Charlottesville, marking the first time the event is held in the United States.

A Battle for International Glory

The championship will feature top 10- to 12-goal teams from around the world, competing for the coveted title. Several teams have already secured their spots, including USA, France, Argentina, and Iran. However, the competition is far from over, as zone playoffs are still set to take place this summer in Guatemala and France, determining the final qualifiers.

The Road to Virginia

The journey to the championship begins with five zone playoffs, where teams battle for a chance to represent their countries on the international stage. The Zone A playoffs will be held in Mexico, featuring teams from Mexico, Guatemala, and Canada. Meanwhile, the Zone C playoffs will take place in Chantilly, France, with teams from France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, and Azerbaijan vying for a spot in Virginia.

A Historic Moment for Arena Polo

The FIP Arena Polo World Championship was first introduced in 2023, with its inaugural edition held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The event was designed to showcase high-level arena polo, expanding the reach of the sport and providing a platform for international competition. With the United States now hosting the second edition, the tournament is set to highlight the country’s rich history and passion for arena polo.

Anticipation Builds

As the final teams prepare to qualify, excitement continues to grow for what promises to be a thrilling championship. With elite players, world-class facilities, and a global audience, the FIP Arena Polo World Championship is set to be one of the most anticipated events in the polo calendar.
